CONTEST NOW CLOSED. Congratulations to this week’s winner, Dayne Sislen! And THANK YOU to everyone who entered!
Woohoo! Read. Learn. Repeat. is 6 months old, and I’m celebrating with a 5 WEEK GIVEAWAY event. Two lucky readers have already won the fantastic books If You’re Going to a March (Martha Freeman/Violet Kim) and How to Feed Your Parents (Ryan Miller/Hatem Aly).
This week’s prize is No Frogs in School by A. LaFaye, illustrated by Églantine Coulemans. It’s a delightfully fun book about a boy who LOVES all animals. This character is totally endearing and tugs on my heartstrings. (As a kid, I loved catching animals and managed to catch quite a variety for a suburban kid: lizards, dogs, cats, frogs, birds, turtles, a rabbit, and a mole.) Packed with great art, ridiculous pets and guaranteed giggles, it’s a book every kid will love.
- Follow this blog via WordPress or email.
- Leave a comment on this post telling me the most interesting animal you’ve ever caught!
- Enter by Monday 8/27 @ Midnight EST.
- U.S. and Canada only.
WINNER will be selected at random from all comments with active follower status and announced on Tuesday 8/28. I will announce the winner on the blog, Instagram, and Twitter.
I’d like to thank Sterling Children’s Books for supporting my blog by providing both myself and the winner a copy of this truly fabulous book. Below you can find further information from the publisher about the book and its creators.
Thanks for celebrating with me, and best of luck!

Unfortunately, when Bartholomew brings his brand-new frog to class, his teacher, Mr. Patanoose, declares: “No frogs in school!” How will Bartholomew keep his animal friends close at hand . . . and follow Mr. Patanoose’s rules, too?
